Stand-alone novel set before the start of ‘The Wheel of Time’ series. Published in the US by Tor books in January 2004 (ISBN: 0-765-30926-2) this special signed, limited edition was published simultaneously with the US trade hardcover edition. Issued without dust-jacket the boards are bound in green leather with gold titling to spine. Comes with matching green leather slipcase. As is customary with the other limited edition volumes in this series this has full-colour map end pages – it also has the trade edition dust-jacket artwork (again by Daryl K. Sweet) bound into the volume. Signed directly by the author to a limitation page this edition is limited to just 150 numbered copies (down from the 200 for other volumes in the series) with a further 52 lettered copies (up from 25 for the other volumes in the series) originally reserved for the publisher and author. This is also a first edition (identified by a full number-line on the copyright page) and originally retailed for $150.

The scarcity, the limited edition nature and the verified signature of this volume makes copies expensive. Although cheaper than the leather bound copies of other volumes in the series, for a good condition, numbered copy expect to pay in excess of £300. For a lettered copy (which come onto the market even less often) then prices are £600+
